If you have decided to open your own small business for the first time and do not know where to start, then we will tell you about the procedure for registering an individual entrepreneur (IE).
Since January 1, 2017, Kazakhstan has simplified the registration of individual entrepreneurs, the procedure has been transformed from declarative to notification.
It is enough for individuals to notify the state revenue authority of the start of entrepreneurial activity, in one of the listed ways in electronic form (online) by:
e license.kz e e-Licensing Portal;
mobile applications of second-tier banks;
"E-salyq Business" mobile application.
The notification makes it possible to engage in business from the moment of referral and in itself is a confirmation of registration as an individual entrepreneur, this service is provided free of charge.
Importantly! When registering, it is necessary to specify the details and parameters of your future individual entrepreneur - address, name, type of activity (NCEA), and one of the tax regimes.
Let's focus on each of the ways of sending notifications for the registration of an individual entrepreneur.
The procedure for registering an individual entrepreneur on the portal e license.kz
To send a notification about the start of a business, you must register on the elicense.kz portal.
After registering on the elicense.kz portal, you need to go to the page of the service "Notification of the start of activities as an individual entrepreneur".
This link can be found in the list of popular services in the right block of the main page of the elicense.kz portal, as well as in the section "For business → Registration and development of business → Registration and liquidation of business" on the eGov.kz portal.
On the service page, you need to click on the "Order service online" button, after which you will be asked to select a licensor, i.e. the state revenue authority, where you will be registered as an individual entrepreneur.
Next, after choosing the state revenue authority, you need to fill in the application fields in the window that opens. If you log in with an EDS, most of them will be filled in automatically.
In the last section of this page, there is an item "Request confirmation from the State Revenue Authority", in which you need to click on the "Send" button and wait for a message about the approval of the possibility of registering an individual entrepreneur.
After clicking on "Next", a window will open with fields where you need to specify the details and parameters of your future individual entrepreneur - address, name, type of activity (NCEA), and one of the listed tax regimes:
- a special tax regime based on a patent;
- a special tax regime based on a simplified declaration;
- a special tax regime with the use of a fixed deduction;
- a special tax regime using a special mobile application;
- special retail tax regime;
- special tax regime for peasant or farm enterprises;
- Special tax regime for agricultural producers and agricultural cooperatives.
The generated request is signed with an EDS, after which the individual entrepreneur is registered within 1 business day.
The procedure for registering an individual entrepreneur in the bank's mobile application
To send a notification about the start of entrepreneurial activity, you need to download and register in the mobile application.
To send a notification about the start of entrepreneurial activity, you need to register, go to the bank's mobile application.
In the application, go to the services section, then select the line "Register an individual entrepreneur" and fill it out.
Then, after filling in the details, send it for processing.
The generated request is signed with an application with an EDS, after which the individual entrepreneur is registered within 1 business day.
The procedure for registering an individual entrepreneur in the mobile application "E-salyq Business"

To send a notification about the start of entrepreneurial activity, you need to register, go to the "E-salyq Business" mobile application.
In the application, go to the "Individual Entrepreneur Registration" section and fill in the details.
Then, after filling in the details, send it for processing.
The generated request is signed in the application with EDS, after which the individual entrepreneur is registered within 1 business day.
