To attention of the owners of vehicles imported from the Republic of Armenia!

The Department of State Revenue for the East Kazakhstan region informs that the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 553 of 02.09.2020 amended the Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 306 of 20.05.2020 "On certain issues of importation into the Republic of Kazakhstan and operation of individual vehicles registered in the Republic of Armenia by citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan" on extending the registration period for cars imported from Armenia until March 1, 2021. Previously, the deadline was set until September 01, 2020.

Now, until March 01, 2021, it is possible to register vehicles with a left-hand drive location, registered for citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the authorized bodies of the Republic of Armenia and imported to the Republic of Kazakhstan before February 1, 2020, with payment of the state registration fee (0.25 MNU) and state duties (for issuing a certificate of state registration of vehicles-1.25 MNU, for issuing a state registration license plate for a car, unless otherwise established by Article 615 of the Tax Code-2.8 MNU).

At the same time, there is no need to pay customs duties, a fee for the initial registration of motor vehicles and a recycling fee.

To make a temporary registration, it's necessary to contact a Specialized Public Service Center.

After registration of the vehicle, the owners are issued a technical passport, where special marks indicate "Not subject to registration for another person", and a state registration number plate is issued on a yellow background.

The technical passport and license plate issued in the Republic of Armenia will be stored in the PSC until the owner makes a decision on its initial registration or export outside the Republic of Kazakhstan.

For vehicles imported into the Republic of Kazakhstan after February 1, 2020, if the owner makes a decision on the primary registration of transport, the owner has an obligation to pay customs duties, a fee for the primary registration of motor vehicles and a recycling fee, or the export of the vehicle outside the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It is important to note that in accordance with Article 492 of the Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, after the state registration of a vehicle, the owners of cars have an obligation to pay tax on the vehicle from individuals.
