On January 12, 2026, an Open Day for residents of the East Kazakhstan Region was held at the premises of the State Revenue Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk as part of the nationwide “People’s Accountant” campaign.
During the event, representatives of the State Revenue Department for the East Kazakhstan Region and the State Revenue Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk, together with professional accountant Svetlana Osikova from the Professional Accounting Bureau “Uchet,” provided consultative assistance to taxpayers.
Specialists from the state revenue authorities explained the provisions of the new Tax Code, the procedure for filing tax returns, transitional rules for special tax regimes, issues related to VAT registration and deregistration, as well as the specifics of working with information systems.
Special attention was given to issues related to the transition to the self-employed regime. Participants received detailed explanations on the registration process, taxation, fulfillment of tax obligations, and answers to the most frequently asked questions.
At the conclusion of the event, participants expressed their gratitude to the staff of the state revenue authorities for the assistance provided and the professional consultations.
The nationwide “People’s Accountant” campaign aims to promote a service-oriented approach in the work of state revenue authorities, enhance public tax literacy, and prevent violations of tax legislation.
The campaign will run until June 30, 2026. Consultations for taxpayers will be conducted on a regular basis in accordance with the approved schedule:
in January–February — on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; starting from March — twice a week.
