On December 10, 2025, the Department of State Revenue for the East Kazakhstan Region held a seminar at the venue of the Trade Union of Entrepreneurship Workers of the EKR to explain the new Tax Code, which comes into force on January 1, 2026.
During the seminar, Acting Deputy Head of the Department Askhat Zhibitaev highlighted the changes taking effect on January 1, 2026, regarding value-added tax, differentiated VAT rates, and explained the procedures for VAT registration and VAT excess refund.
Next, new developments in special tax regimes (STR) were discussed. In particular, the number of active regimes has been reduced from seven to three: the STR for self-employed individuals, the STR based on a simplified declaration, and the STR for peasant or farming enterprises. This was reported by the Head of the Department of Desk Audit Monitoring, Gulzhanat Berkutova.
After the presentations, seminar participants asked questions of interest, to which clarifications were provided. Gulmira Sabralimova, Head of the Department of Outreach Work and the Contact Center, took an active part in the discussion.
Special attention was given to the topic of using cash register machines and transitioning to protocol 2.0.3.
