On November 3, 2025, the Department of State Revenue for the East Kazakhstan Region held an outreach seminar in the city of Altai to explain the provisions of the new Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which will enter into force on January 1, 2026.
The event took place at the “Gornyak” Cultural and Leisure Center and brought together about 250 representatives of the business community and the public of Altai.
Specialists from the Department presented to participants the key provisions of the new legislation, providing detailed explanations of the innovations in tax administration, corporate income tax, rates and procedures for advance payments, as well as in the field of subsoil use and special tax regimes.
Separate sessions of the seminar were devoted to issues of VAT registration, the procedure for VAT refund, as well as changes in the calculation of individual income tax, social tax, and property-related taxes.
The new Tax Code is aimed at significantly simplifying tax administration and improving conditions for taxpayers through full digitalization. In particular:
the volume of tax reporting will be reduced by 30%;
tax benefits will be optimized;
procedures for tax debt collection, deferrals, and installment payments will be simplified;
planned inspections will be abolished, and taxpayer risk categorization (SUR) will be eliminated;
the number of special tax regimes will be reduced from seven to three — for the self-employed, those using the simplified declaration, and for peasant (farm) households, among others.
Representatives of the Department of State Revenue emphasized that one of the key tasks of the agency remains the timely and comprehensive informing of taxpayers about upcoming changes in tax legislation.
During the open dialogue, participants of the seminar received answers to all their questions regarding the changes introduced by the new Tax Code.
