According to the Constitution and the Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, individuals are responsible for independently calculating and paying their vehicle tax by April 1 of the year following the reporting year. This means that in 2025, the tax for 2024 is due.
Tax charges are prepared by the tax authorities between February and March and are communicated to taxpayers through:

eGov, e-Salyq Azamat;
applications Kaspi and
Despite these measures, the region remains heavily indebted. As of June 30, 2025, transport tax arrears from 12,494 individuals in East Kazakhstan amounted to 498.9 million tenge. This figure represents 97% of all local tax arrears.
In case of non-payment, a notice of tax arrears is sent, a fine is imposed, and the case is also transferred to private bailiffs, who can:
- seize property;
- block the cards;
- limit travel and right to drive a vehicle.
Since the beginning of 2025, 447 raids have been conducted, resulting in 582 debtors voluntarily settling their debts. Over 10.9 million tenge has been recovered. Private bailiffs issued 9,865 orders totaling 311.1 million tenge, of which 7,691 have been executed.
