Vehicle tax is calculated independently by taxpayers in accordance with the tax legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The calculation is based on the Monthly Calculation Index (MCI) for 2025, which is KZT 3,932.
For the convenience of taxpayers, an online vehicle tax calculator is available on the State Revenue Committee's portal, allowing users to determine the amount payable.
The amount of tax due can also be checked:
The Department reminds taxpayers that starting from April 2, 2026, late payment interest will accrue for each day of delay.
In addition, from May 10, 2026, compulsory debt collection measures prescribed by the tax legislation will be applied to taxpayers with outstanding tax liabilities.
If the tax debt exceeds 1 MCI, the state revenue authorities issue a tax collection order. If the taxpayer fails to settle the debt within five working days after receiving the tax collection order, the case is transferred to enforcement officers for compulsory collection.
During enforcement proceedings, compulsory measures may be applied, including the seizure of bank accounts and the debtor's property. If the outstanding tax debt exceeds 40 MCI (KZT 157,280), temporary restrictions on leaving the Republic of Kazakhstan may also be imposed in accordance with the legislation.
The Department of State Revenue for Kostanay Region recommends that vehicle owners check their tax liabilities in advance and pay the tax within the established deadline to avoid late payment interest and compulsory enforcement measures.
