Regarding the acquisition of vehicles registered in the Republic of Abkhazia

Currently, the State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, are taking measures aimed at counteracting the illegal movement and operation of vehicles with registration number plates of the Republic of Abkhazia on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, temporarily imported into the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union (hereinafter - the EAEU ). These vehicles of the Republic of Abkhazia, in violation of the restrictions established by Articles 264, 275 of the Customs Code (hereinafter - TC) of the EAEU, are sold by power of attorney (with the right of ownership, disposal or alienation). However, in accordance with paragraph 6 of Article 264 and paragraph 2 of Article 275 of the Customs Code of the EAEU, temporarily imported vehicles must be located in the customs territory of the EAEU in the actual possession and use of the declarant (the person who carried out the import). The State Customs Service of the Kyrgyz Republic recommends citizens not to purchase temporarily imported vehicles registered in the Republic of Abkhazia, and also not to operate these vehicles without appropriate procedures for customs clearance and initial registration with the registration authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic.
