The Rules for Labeling and Traceability of Tobacco Products, approved by the Order of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 927 dated September 28, 2020, now exclude the expression that labeling of tobacco products is "mandatory"throughout the text.
The list of concepts used in the Rules has also been clarified.

In addition, amendments were made to the procedure for registering participants in the turnover of tobacco products in the information system of labeling and traceability of goods (IP MPT) and providing them with access to a personal account, as well as to the procedure for registering tobacco products themselves in the IP MPT and applying identification means to the packaging of tobacco products.
It is determined that the turnover of tobacco products produced and (or) imported into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan after the date of introduction of labeling of tobacco products by means of identification is allowed only if information about their sale is transmitted to the IPT.

The amendments were made by the Order of the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 509 dated May 31, 2021 and are effective from June 14, 2021.
