- control and supervision of the activities of local Executive bodies for architecture, urban planning, construction and state architectural and construction control in terms of the appropriate performance of functions assigned to them by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- monitoring of objects under construction (reconstructed, expanded, modernized, overhauled) on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan; - application of administrative measures established by the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on administrative offenses to violators of the architectural and urban planning discipline within the competence of the Ministry;
- certification of state construction inspectors;
- normative, technical and methodological support for the activities of the subjects of architectural, urban planning and construction activities, as well as the state enterprise that maintains the state urban planning cadastre;
- making proposals for the development of new and revision of existing regulatory and technical documents in the field of design;
- cooperation with public associations and organizations on design and pricing in construction;
- organization of development and approval of standard project documentation;
- creating and maintaining a list of regulatory documents on pricing in construction;
- creation of the state urban planning cadastre and control over its maintenance.
