The initiative aimed to increase awareness of Official Development Assistance (ODA) among press services of Kazakhstan’s government agencies and media representatives, enhance media literacy in matters related to international aid, and highlight Kazakhstan’s role as a responsible donor.
The seminar “International Journalism: Official Development Assistance,” held on May 14, 2025, in Astana, brought together 48 participants, including press secretaries of government agencies and journalists. Experts discussed standards for covering global initiatives and explored anti-crisis PR methods. As a result, a pool of media professionals with a deep understanding of foreign policy specifics and the concept of “soft power” was formed. The event generated strong interest within the professional community. Participants emphasized the practical value of the knowledge gained and proposed holding this training on an annual basis. The regular organization of such meetings will contribute to higher-quality coverage of Kazakhstan’s contribution to international stability in the information space.
