On official development assistance provided by the Republic of Kazakhstan to foreign countries in 2024

In order to implement the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On official development assistance” and in accordance with the status of “invited” in the Development Assistance Committee of the OECD, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan provided a statistical report on official development assistance rendered to foreign countries in 2024.

The total amount of official development assistance provided by the Republic of Kazakhstan through bilateral and multilateral channels in 2024 amounted to USD 49.28 million.

The main recipients of bilateral assistance in 2024 were:

Tajikistan (USD 71 million);
Afghanistan (USD 49 million);
Türkiye (USD 95 million);
Togo (USD 55 million);
Kyrgyzstan (USD 49 million).

The above-mentioned funds were transferred for development assistance purposes, including in the following priority areas:

Humanitarian assistance, including emergency response measures;
Economic infrastructure, primarily energy and communications;
Multisectoral / cross-cutting sectors, including environmental protection and other related areas.

The remaining part of ODA was transferred as voluntary and mandatory contributions to international development organizations.
