In the structure of the gross regional product, industry dominates - 49.5%.

Including, the share of the manufacturing industry in the total GRP of the region is 34.9%, the mining industry - 11.3%, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - 2.5%, water supply; sewerage system, control over the collection and distribution of waste - 0.7%.

The industrial base of the region is formed by more than 100 enterprises and industries of mining, manufacturing, electricity and water supply.

For 2021, the volume of production in the region amounted to 4265.6 billion tenge, the index of the physical volume of industrial production - 102.2%.

In the mining industry and quarrying, products worth 537.9 billion tenge were produced.

In the manufacturing industry, the volume of production amounted to 3428.6 billion tenge, the index of physical volume - 100.7%.

Growth is observed in pharmaceuticals by 5.1 times, ferrous metallurgy by 11.3%, mechanical engineering by 5.6%, light industry by 4.7%, construction industry by 2.3%.

The implementation of a whole range of government measures aimed at restoring certain sectors of the manufacturing industry, such as the import substitution policy , the implementation of government programs, the provision of tax benefits and preferences, made it possible to ensure a stable growth in production volumes and the commissioning of new enterprises.

The volume of flat-rolled products production in 2021 amounted to 3056.2 thousand tons with an increase of 19.2% (2020 - 2563.3 thousand tons), steel production amounted to 3817.4 thousand tons with an increase of 15.7% (2020 - 3299.4 thousand tons).

The volume of coal production for 2021 amounted to 39314.1 thousand tons or 104.7% (2020 - 37567.7 thousand tons).

LLP Corporation " Kazakhmys "

At the Kazakhmys Corporation, the production of refined copper for 2021 amounted to 368.5 thousand tons, or a decrease of 5.4%, refined gold - 7.5 kg, refined silver 291.2 kg.

Since 2010, within the framework of the State Program for Industrial and Innovative Development, 99 investment projects worth 571.7 billion tenge have been implemented in the region, more than 9 (9432) thousand new jobs have been created.

In 2021, 5 projects were launched in the amount of 229.5 billion tenge, with the creation of 901 jobs:

- modernization of existing production. Construction of an enrichment plant of Zhairem Mining and Processing Plant JSC, cost 190 billion tenge, with the creation of 381 jobs;

- ferroalloy plant with a sintering plant Asia LLP Ferroalloys ", the cost of 35 billion tenge, with the creation of 400 jobs;

- processing of iron and manganese ore by INDJAZ LLP, cost 4 billion tenge, with the creation of 50 jobs;

- creation of an integrated production facility for the production of freshly chilled beef on the basis of the feedlot of the farm "Jacquet", the cost of 0.4 billion tenge, with the creation of 20 jobs;

- launch of a slaughterhouse for the purpose of processing poultry meat of the farm " Akhtyamov R.N.", the cost of 0.1 billion tenge, with the creation of 50 jobs.

In January-December 2021, launched projects produced industrial products worth 547.3 billion tenge, their share in the total amounted to 12.8%.
