The work on providing sports facilities to people with disabilities is carried out with the management of private sports facilities. Sports facilities such as the Sports Center (swimming pool), the sports complex "Karat" (sitting volleyball), the swimming pool of the swimming school, sports halls of school No. 27, the sports complex "Rovesnik" (taekwondo), the sports complex "Beijing" in Temirtau (powerlifting) are provided free of charge. Also, boarding schools for children with musculoskeletal and vision disorders and the Karaganda Society for the Blind provide their own premises. All these facilities comply with sanitary and hygienic standards and disabled athletes do not experience difficulties in accessing the listed facilities.
According to Article 27 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Social Protection of Disabled People in the Republic of Kazakhstan", local executive bodies provide disabled people with conditions for access to cultural and entertainment events, as well as sports facilities for physical culture and sports, the provision of special sports equipment. Disabled people of the first and second groups, and children with disabilities under 18 years of age use the listed services at the expense of budget funds, and disabled people of the third group - with payment of fifty percent of the cost of these services.
Since 2003, a specialized school for disabled sports has been functioning in the region, which creates conditions for disabled people to play sports in accessible types, as well as training athletes with disabilities of International class.
For the 2020-2021 academic year, 440 people are enrolled in the school. They work with 21 coaches-teachers, including 12 full - time coaches. The highest category has 14 people, the first-1 person, the second-4 people, 6 people are Honored Coaches of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The school cultivates 16 sports.
Among the disabled people engaged in physical culture and sports, 4 people are Honored Masters of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 12 people have the sports title of masters of sports of International Class, 38 masters of sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 35 candidates for Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 44 people have the 1st category.
