On the territory of the city there are 6 supermarkets, 3 food markets, 1 communal pavilion, 177 shopping facilities, 8 gas stations and 25 pharmacies.
At the expense of its own funds, 20 new small and medium-sized businesses were opened in 2020 for a total amount of 107.0 million tenge, with the creation of 42 new jobs.
According to the results of 2020, the index of physical volume of retail trade amounted to 97% or 12754.5 million tenge (2019 – 11282.2 million tenge).
The decrease in this indicator is associated with the declared state of emergency and restrictive measures, with a reduction in the working hours of retail facilities and the closure of such facilities as school sections, school canteens, hookah bars, night clubs, billiard rooms and others.
At the same time, the index of the physical volume of wholesale trade amounted to 104.3% or 1619.0 million tenge (2019-90.7%).
In order to expand electronic payment services, all supermarkets in the city have installed terminals for receiving utility and other payments (Kazpost JSC, Cash Register-24).
