Accreditation of the certification center is the official recognition by the authorized body in the field of information security of the competence of the certification center in the provision of services for the issuance of an electronic digital signature.
The accreditation of certification centers is a prerequisite for the certification centers (with the exception of the root certification center of the Republic of Kazakhstan) to carry out their activities on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Accreditation of the certification center is a public service and is carried out free of charge for a period of three years, unless a shorter period is specified in the application of the certification center.
The Information Security Committee of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan has been providing the state service for accreditation of the certification center since February 2020.
The procedure, list of documents and requirements for them are defined by the Order of the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 224/NK "On Approval of the Rules for Accreditation of Certification Centers" dated June 1, 2020.
