What should I do if my ID expires?

An identity card is issued to Kazakhstanis from the age of 16 and is issued for a period of 10 years.

It is best to change your ID in advance, since a document that is overdue for more than 1 month is an administrative offense.

You can replace your ID card at any public service center, regardless of your place of registration. You just need to present the old document and pay a state fee of 0.2 MCI.

The new document will be ready within 15 working days.

If you wish, you can speed up the production time for your certificate for an additional fee.

*Passport is a voluntary document, so there is no penalty if it is expired. The cost of the state duty is 8 MCI.
