About the passage of the flood period in the district.

About the passage of the flood period in the district.
One of the types of natural disasters that cause great damage to the population and economy of the country are floods and floods. One of the most common types of floods are floods caused by intense melting of snow, ice or large amounts of precipitation, which is typical for most of our republic. The negative consequences of the onset of flood waters are: flooding of low-lying areas of territories, settlements located on them, economic facilities, individual structures, telephone and telecommunication towers, destruction of sections of roads, railway tracks and bridges. Secondary damage from floods is even more significant. Floods entail various infectious diseases and environmental problems, accidents at potentially hazardous facilities with the release (threat of release) of highly toxic and radioactive substances, etc. To ensure the protection of the population and territories from the negative impact of hazardous natural phenomena, the State Institution “Kazselezaschita” carries out constant monitoring of the condition of flood- and mudslide-prone rivers, landslide-, and avalanche-prone areas. One of the main measures to protect the population is to alert and inform them about the occurrence or threat of a hydrological emergency. The main danger warning signal, by which people must immediately turn on all available means of receiving information, is the “Attention everyone!!!” signal transmitted by the sound of sirens.
Before evacuating, to save your home you should:
• turn off water, gas, electricity;
• extinguish the fire in stoves;
• move valuables and property to the upper floors (attics) of buildings;
• close windows and doors, if necessary, block the windows and doors of the first floors with boards or plywood.
When receiving a signal to begin evacuation, you must quickly collect and take with you:
• documents (in sealed packaging), valuables, medicines;
• a set of clothes and shoes for the season;
• stock up on food for several days, then proceed to the announced evacuation point to be sent to safe areas.
In the event of a sudden flood, it is necessary as quickly as possible, if there is flooding in a village or private sector, to drive the livestock to safe places far from the flood zone. Occupy the nearest safe, high ground and be prepared for an organized evacuation by water. It is necessary to take measures to allow rescuers to promptly detect people cut off by water and in need of help:
a) during daylight hours - hang the banners in a high place;
b) in the dark - give light signals.
If you find water in a field or forest, then you need to go to elevated places; if there is no such elevation, climb a tree. All objects that can hold a person on the water are used (logs, boards, wooden doors, barrels, car tires, etc.)
Remember! In a flooded area, you should not eat food that has come into contact with the incoming water or drink unboiled water.
In any situation, do not lose your composure, do not panic, act quickly, but without fuss and confidently!
Be attentive to the speech messages of the authorities for civil defense and emergency situations!
