The UAPF answers common questions
The amount of contributions on my pension account statement begins in 2013. How can I obtain information about contributions for previous years?
The Unified Accumulative Pension Fund was created in 2013 on the basis of the State Accumulative Pension Fund (JSC UAPF). The pension assets and liabilities of all private funds were transferred to the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund.
Obtaining statements from an individual pension account (hereinafter referred to as the IPA) is a legally enshrined right of contributors (recipients). The Unified Accumulative Pension Fund is obligated to provide the individual in whose name the IPA is opened, free of charge, with information on the status of their pension savings upon request for any date requested from the date the IPA is opened, as well as to provide electronic and other means of access to information about their pension savings.
You can check the status of your pension savings in the following ways:
Electronically:
- through your personal account on the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund website or mobile app or the e-government (egov.kz) using an electronic digital signature or username and password;
- via email to the address provided with the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund;
by visiting an Unified Accumulative Pension Fund office in person;
via postal services.
If an IPA statement is generated for the period prior to opening an IPA with the ENPF, the IPA statement is accompanied by information, including information on the status of pension savings, provided by the "last" accumulative pension fund to submit information to the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund.
If necessary, the UAPF can provide information back to 2013. To do so, we recommend submitting a written request by email to enpf@enpf.kz or to your local Unified Accumulative Pension Fund office, stating the requested information and the period for which it should be generated. The document will be provided in the manner and within the timeframe established by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Can a person applying for permanent residence in another country transfer their pension savings to their close relatives?
We would like to clarify that UAPF contributors who are leaving or have left for permanent residence outside the country have the opportunity to withdraw their pension savings. To do so, they must formalize their departure for permanent residence through the internal affairs authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan and submit a package of documents to the UAPF. Foreigners and stateless persons who have left for permanent residence outside the Republic of Kazakhstan, who have pension savings in the UAPF and who have submitted documents in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, are entitled to receive pension payments from the UAPF in connection with their departure for permanent residence outside the country:
through mandatory and compulsory professional pension contributions - upon presentation of documents confirming the fact of departure.
through voluntary pension contributions - upon presentation of documents confirming the intention or fact of departure.
Citizens have the right to withdraw their pension savings if they have already properly processed their permanent residence permit and hold a foreign passport.
There are three ways to submit documents to the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund:
You can personally visit the UAPF office with your passport and bank account information.
Your representative (attorney) can personally visit the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund office with a package of documents. They must have the following: a notarized copy of your passport or stateless person's ID; an identity document of the representative (attorney); a notarized power of attorney; and your bank account information.
You can send the required documents by mail. The list of documents is as follows: an application for pension payments with a notarized signature; a notarized copy of your passport or stateless person's ID; and bank account information. The collected documents can be sent to the postal address of one of the regional branches of the Unified Accumulative Pension Fund.
Please note that pension savings are paid only to the recipient's bank account, including if the recipient of pension payments is an incapacitated or partially incapacitated adult. Pension savings may not be paid to the bank account of a legal representative (guardian/trustee) or an authorized person. Therefore, a person applying for permanent residence in another country cannot transfer their pension savings to their close relatives.
Can citizens with a residence permit in Kazakhstan make pension contributions?
