The government approved the Concept of the State program of geological exploration for 2021-2025
On January 31, this year, The government, under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Sklyar R., approved the Concept of the state program of geological exploration for 2021-2025.
The state program is being developed in accordance with the instruction of the Head of state dated September 5, 2019.
The discussion of the Concept of the state Program was attended by deputies of the Mazhilis of the Parliament, as well as representatives of the Ministries of energy, infrastructure development industry, national economy, Finance, justice, digital development, innovation and aerospace industry, KazMunayGas JSC and Kazgeologia JSC.
By order of the Prime Minister, a Commission (working group) on the development of the state Program will be formed, formed from representatives of state bodies, public councils and deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with the involvement of research organizations, scientists and specialists in various fields of knowledge, if necessary.
The Ministry of ecology, Geology and natural resources plans to submit the state Program to the Government for approval in may this year.
Vice-Minister of ecology, Geology and natural resources S. Zharkeshov made a report at the meeting.He noted the main goals and problems of the geological industry today.
The purpose of the state Program is to create conditions for sustainable replenishment, development and support of the competitiveness of the mineral resource base by increasing the geological study of the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Currently, the main problems of the geological industry are:
- low level of advanced state geological study of subsurface resources;
- depletion of the Fund of near-surface easily accessible deposits;
- low replenishment of reserves for a number of minerals;
- lack of advanced research in the field of Geology;
- lack of geological infrastructure;
- critical decrease in the availability of reserves of city-forming enterprises;
- weak level of automation and digitalization in exploration;
- the list of geological specialties for 25 years has been reduced compared to the one that existed before 1992.
low government funding to explore deep horizons with the aim of evaluating the prospects of detection of mineral deposits.
The main objectives of the state Program:
Task 1-Ensuring the geological study of the territory of Kazakhstan
Task 2-Replenishment of the mineral resource base (increase in mineral reserves)
Task 3-Scientific and research support for the geological study of the subsurface
Task 4-automation and digitalization of the geological industry
Task 5-Development of the infrastructure of the geological industry
Task 6-Staffing of the geological industry
Task 7-Ensuring the socio-economic well-being of the country's population
This Programme aims to achieve the following indicators:
1. Scope of geological exploration in Kazakhstan:
- geological re-study of areas from 94.5% to 100%
- deep, geological and mineragenic mapping from 25.8% to 37%
2. Identification of new promising objects for TPI, December 2025-40-50 promising areas and objects
3. Increasing the degree of geological and geophysical study of sedimentary basins:
- mastered – from 30% to 80%
- little-studied – up to 10%
4. growth of forecast resources: gold-200 tons; copper-5 million tons, polymetals-5 million tons, uranium-50 thousand tons, hydrocarbons-700 million tons.
5. Growth of private investment in exploration - up to 800bn.tenge
6. Increase in the number of personnel involved in the implementation of exploration at the expense of the state budget from 1000 to 1500 units; under contracts/licenses for 60 units from 190 thousand to 250 thousand units.
