10 oil and gas subsoil plots in Kazakhstan will be sold through an online auction

This was announced today, October 28, at a briefing in the Central communications Service by Vice-Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Zhanat Zhakhmetova.
According to Akhmetova, since September 1 of this year, persons interested in obtaining the subsoil use right can apply for an auction online.
- In 2020 it is planned to sell 10 oil and gas subsoil plots in Kazakhstan through an electronic auction, with a total starting amount of a subscription bonus of 400 million tenge. Currently, more than 30 applications for participation in the auction have been received, - Zhanat Akhmetova said.
- The total area of plots proposed by the state for the development and production of hydrocarbons is about 29 thousand square kilometers.
Electronic trading is scheduled for December 23, 2020 (applications are accepted until November 29). These plots will be the first to be developed electronically. Until now, auctions were held "in person", and participants had to visit the auction halls, even if the development was claimed by a foreign company. Now, in the conditions of quarantine and cancellation of most international flights, auctions will be conducted electronically. This saves both government agencies and businesses from significant transaction costs.
