On April 26-27, 2018 in the conference hall of The Ritz Carlton Hotel in Astana a Hard Talk on theme "The introduction of the mechanism of auction biddings of renewable energy" was started. It was organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the European Union, USAID and the Association KAZENERGY. As you know, in 2018 in Kazakhstan the auction biddings will be held on the selection of projects for the construction of generating facilities that operate on the basis of renewable energy sources (RES). The total capacity planned for the selection in 2018 will be 1000 MW. Kazakhstan by identifying key barriers that block private sector investments and creating a well-functioning and stable system for supporting renewable energy in the new auction system. Thanks to this event, the participants will have an opportunity to openly exchange opinions and identify key problems that impede investment in the RES sector, as well as offer effective ways to address them.
