On April 26-27, 2018, at the conference hall of the Ritz Carlton hotel in Astana, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, the European Union, USAID and the KAZENERGY Association will hold
Hard Talk event on "Introduction of the renewable energy auction mechanism”.
As you may know, this year in Kazakhstan, first auction will be held on the selection of projects for the construction of generating facilities that operate on the basis of renewable energy sources (RES). The total capacity planned for the selection this year will be 1000 MW.
In this regard, the main objective of this event is to contribute to the ongoing national dialogue on implementation of RES potential in Kazakhstan by identifying key barriers that hinder private sector investments and to create a well-functioning and stable support system for RES in the new auction system.
Thanks to this event, the participants will have an opportunity to openly exchange opinions and identify key problems that impede investment in the RES sector, as well as offer effective ways to address them.
