On May 21-23, 2018 in the eve of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum XII International Forum "Green Economy" was held on the territory of FSBI State Complex "Palace of Congresses" in St. Petersburg http://greeneconomy.pro/, where the Head of the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects Rapil Zhoshybayev made aspeech about the prospects of green transformation in Kazakhstan within the framework of the new center.
The plenary session of the Forum was made by the representatives of the executive and legislative branches of the Russian Federation, the Far and the Near Abroad, reports on the following topics were presented: sustainable development of agriculture and forestry, energy saving and energy efficiency, wastewater treatment, investments in promising technological solutions in the processing of industrial and consumer waste, on technologies and materials in construction and housing and communal services, improvement of cities and rural settlements. Also an exhibition of modern technologies, goods and services, declared by the Forum topic, was organized on the territory of the Forum. As a result of the event, problems that hampered the introduction of innovative technologies and the development of the sectors under consideration were identified, proposals were developed on an integrated approach to solving these problems.
Kazakhstan has certain agreements in the field of green technologies and with the Russian Federation, in particular, with the Moscow Institute of Energy. So, Kazakhstan will cooperate with the office of the Best Available Technologies. Currently, the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects is working to create a database on the best available technologies in digital format, as well as a register of green technologies, which will be updated on an ongoing basis. The database will contain detailed information about manufacturers, data on laboratory tests and any other expertise carried out. It is supposed to exchange data with partners around the world. It is also planned to implement a multi-stage system of universal "green rating" of projects and companies that will determine the compliance of projects with international environmental protection and sustainable development requirements, assess their potential and effectiveness with the purpose of using donor financing tools, and also give businesses the opportunity to claim various state privileges and preferences.
