The Kazakh-Austrian Forum of Regions was held on June 27, 2018 in Astana: Austrian Technologies for Sustainable Development of Kazakhstan. The Forum was organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the Trade Department of the Embassy of Austria, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Regional Akims.
The First Vice-Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Makhambet Dosmukhambetov, the Secretary General of the Federal Ministry of Transport of Innovations and Technologies of Austria Andreas Reichardt, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev, the Austrian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Gerhard Syler made their opening speeches.
The main topic of discussion of the Forum was the application of Austrian green technologies for sustainable development of Kazakhstan.
The Austrian delegation included representatives of 16 leading Austrian companies, representing such sectors as: renewable energy, green construction, waste management, water purification and smart city.
Also it should be noted that the Forum was a continuation of the successful Austrian participation at EXPO-2017 and provided an opportunity for local companies together with the best experts of Austrian companies to discuss the possibility of participation and the implementation of specific projects in the regions of Kazakhstan.
