Transport and roads

The total length of the highways of the Shelek rural district is 265 km, including roads of republican significance 20 km, roads of regional significance 43 km, roads of district significance 202 km.

The main part of the volume of traffic in the district is accounted for by road transport. There are 4 routes in the district connecting the district and the cities of Almaty.
4 private-owned road carriers – Shelek Tulpar LLP, carry out the transportation of passengers and luggage. There is 1 bus station.
Of the 3 settlements in the district, 95% are provided with regular passenger transport services.
