Training seminar on the training of psychologists of healthcare and education organizations in Shymkent

Providing emergency psychological assistance to the affected population during an emergency is one of the most important goals of psychologists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 

            Psychologists of the Department of Emergency Situations of Shymkent go to large and resonant emergencies occurring on the territory of the city in order to provide emergency psychological assistance to the affected population and psychological support to their relatives. In addition, psychologists are part of the emergency response headquarters and receive calls on the hotline.

            In accordance with the requirements of the time, in order to ensure the mental health of the population as a result of emergencies and to reduce the incidence that may arise as a result of acute stress disorders, psychologists of educational and health organizations need to increase their knowledge by conducting propaganda work on the psychological aspects of emergencies and the basics of providing emergency psychological assistance to the affected population in emergency situations.

            For this purpose, a 2-day seminar was held on the basis of school No. 24 with the involvement of psychologists from city schools and polyclinics. At the seminar, theoretical classes were combined with practical work on the development of seismic training and the deployment of an evacuation assembly point, psychologists of emergency services shared their experience and conducted master classes.

In order to organize, as well as provide high-quality and timely psychological support to the population during an emergency and organize the work of evacuation points, a memorandum was signed with the departments of health and education of the city of Shymkent. In addition, it is planned to continue the work on training psychologists of educational and healthcare organizations, attracting graduate students of universities studying in the specialties of psychologist, defectologist.
