Briefing: About the passage of the bathing season
On June 22, a briefing on the passage of the bathing season was held at the press site of the Nur-Sultan City akimat. Ratbek Demeubergen, head of the Civil Protection Department of the Emergency Department of Nur-Sultan, spoke at the briefing.
With the onset of hot days, the flow of residents resting on the banks of water bodies of the capital increases. In this regard, the emergency department of Nur-Sultan is actively carrying out all necessary measures to prevent deaths and injuries on the water.
The department, together with police officers, the National Guard, volunteers and public employees of the Employment Center, conducts daily patrols of the city's reservoirs, during which products of conversations with the population and campaigning for compliance with the rules of safety on the water are distributed.
Forbidding signs, floating signs and information stands have been installed on reservoirs.
But to date, despite the work done, according to statistics, the death rate in the reservoirs of the capital is 3 people, including 3 children. The facts of deaths of people are recorded in areas of reservoirs where swimming is prohibited and not equipped. In 2022, 4 people were rescued.
To date, 21 prohibited areas of swimming reservoirs have been installed in Nur-Sultan: the ESIL River, the Chubar turgyn Basin, the gas station, Telman, the triathlon Park, The Deputy Town, the Karasu River, the Akbulak River, the Nura-ESIL Canal, the counter-regulator, etc.
In addition, I would like to note that in the area of the "triathlon Park", which was built last year, the beach does not meet all the requirements of the legislation and is not subject to use. I also urge you not to use the mentioned beach for swimming, so as not to avoid incidents and not to be affected by administrative fines
There are also 3 areas where swimming is allowed - "Central City Beach", "Tri Pescara" and "capital yard" recreation areas.
The department recalls the rules of safety on the water:
- Swim only in permitted areas.
- Do not enter the water under the influence of alcohol.
- Do not swim and dive in unfamiliar places
- Do not allow any tricks associated with catching swimmers.
- Do not be too cold and do not overheat
- Do not bathe if the water temperature is below +18 C!
- Do not use boards, logs, household appliances for swimming.
- Do not swim away from the shore in inflatable mattresses or cells.
- Do not leave small children unattended while bathing.
- Protect yourself and your children!!!
