International financial institutions note the emerging global recession and low business activity amid protective measures against coronavirus. There is a decrease in the situation on basic commodities.
According to the results of the first quarter, the results of the country's socio-economic development are as follows.
In January-March 2020, GDP growth amounted to 2.7%.
Investments in fixed assets grew by 5.1%.
Annual inflation was 6.4%.
In the basic sectors of the economy, there has been a positive growth, with the exception of transport and accommodation and food services. Construction increased by 11.7%, communication services - by 10.5%, industry - by 5.8%, and agriculture - by 2.5%.
However, in March of this year Compared to March 2019, individual industries showed a decline. This is trade - by 3.6%, transport - by 4.7%, accommodation and food services - by 12.1%, ferrous metallurgy - by 13%.
At the same time, the industrial growth rate remained at the level of 5.8%.
Positive growth is noted in 15 regions. The greatest growth was shown by Kostanay and Akmola regions.
At the same time, a decrease was recorded in 2 regions. These are Kyzylorda and Zhambyl regions.
In the manufacturing sector, growth of 8.8% was achieved. This is due to the accelerated pace in pharmaceuticals, engineering, construction materials and light industry.
In processing, all regions showed positive dynamics, with the exception of the Zhambyl region
High growth is noted in Kostanay, Atyrau and Kyzylorda regions.
In general, the growth of fixed capital investments amounted to 5.1%, including private investments grew by 5.4%.
Increased investment is seen in most regions.
At the same time, a decrease was recorded in 4 regions. These are Atyrau, Almaty, Kyzylorda
region and the city of Shymkent.
In the construction sector, there has been a dynamic growth of 11.7%.
In 16 regions, positive growth is observed. The highest growth is noted in the Karaganda region by 50.8%.
Only Kyzylorda oblast showed a decrease in construction

For agriculture in 15 regions there is a positive trend.
In general, the following picture is observed in the context of regions according to the main indicators.
In January-March 2020, 6 regions showed good results. These are Akmola, Aktobe, Karagadi, Kostanai, North Kazakhstan and East Kazakhstan regions.
At the same time, in the Kyzylorda region due to the slowdown in oil production and the completion of the construction of the Saryarka gas pipeline, a decrease in 3 indicators is observed.

In order to minimize the negative consequences of external factors, a number of comprehensive measures have been taken. These are tax incentives, support for SMEs and agribusiness, as well as measures to ensure employment.
To ensure macroeconomic stability, central and local executive bodies need to concentrate on the following aspects:
accelerated launch of the season of active construction work under the programs "Nurly Zher", "Nurly Zhol" and "Employment Roadmap";
quick public procurement with maximum payment of advance payments and support for domestic production;
preventing the growth of prices for socially significant foodstuffs above the established limit values, ensuring the active saturation of the market with foodstuffs;
the formation of a pool of projects for soft loans in the framework of the state program "Business Road Map" and the program "Economics of simple things";
ensuring the achievement of the target level of investment in fixed assets for regional and national projects.
In general, system monitoring of external and internal factors will continue.
