Meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres

On March 24, 2022, at the UN Headquarters in New York, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ms Zulfiya Suleimenova met with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

The Minister, who heads the Kazakh delegation at the UN Water Conference 2023, informed the UN Secretary-General about plans of Kazakhstan in the field of sustainable water resources management. The Secretary-General highly appreciated the efforts of Kazakhstan, emphasising the active position taken by Kazakhstan in the area of achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the conversation, they also discussed Kazakhstan's initiative to establish in Almaty the UN Regional Hub on SDGs for the Central Asian countries and Afghanistan.
