The snow leopard is back in the camera trap lens
In the Kolsai Kolderi National Park, a snow leopard recently got caught in a camera trap. It is worth noting that last year the park's camera trap captured the "red book" predators twice: in June — a female with two cubs, in October - two badgers.
According to the park, only 16 snow leopard individuals have been spotted on its territory. The number of animals shows stability.
Recall that the snow leopard (Uncia uncia Schreber, 1775) is listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan. 120-130 individuals live in our country, no more than 7 thousand in the world.
One of the modern methods of accounting and monitoring the number of this predator is the use of camera traps, which are installed in the places of their transitions. More than 150 camera traps are used.
