Department for the Organization of Convict Labor

Responsibilities:

1) Organizing convict labor in enterprises and institutions of the Penal Enforcement System, state organizations, and organizations of other ownership forms.

2) Monitoring the legality of convict labor usage.

3) Overseeing the implementation of labor protection and safety measures in the enterprises and institutions of the PES.

4) Managing the operations of PES enterprises.

5) Identifying priority areas for the PES enterprises’ activities.

6) Reviewing the development plans of enterprises and reports on their execution.

7) Monitoring the proper use and preservation of enterprise assets.

8) Promoting the adoption of advanced technologies that meet modern requirements, developing new types of products, and implementing investment projects.

9) Developing and implementing measures for government support of the PES enterprises.

10) Submitting proposals on improving the organizational and legal forms of the PES enterprises and liquidating unprofitable ones.

11) Reviewing proposals for the candidates to PES enterprise leaders, their deputies and chief accountants.
