The problems of providing work for convicts and the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the institution were discussed as part of the "Open Doors Day" event held in institution No. 8 of the penitentiary institution in the Aktobe region.
The event was attended by the Deputy Head of the Department of the Penal System, Colonel of Justice Bakytzhan Ilyupov, specialist of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs "Atameken" Leyla Esaliyeva and mediator Altynai Mukhanova, chief specialist of the Department of Entrepreneurship Otarbay Aliaskar, specialist of the Employment Center Gulzabira Bisembayeva, as well as specialist of the Department of Coordination and Employment Danabek Urynbaev and representatives RSE "Enbek-Zhaiyk".
At the meeting, the deputy head of the DIIS, Bakytzhan Ilyupov, noted that in order to solve the problems of employment, the support of local executive bodies in providing state volumes is necessary.
Gulnar Izbagambetova, the chief specialist of the labor organization group of convicts, noted that in many respects, all production activities are tied only to the internal orders of the DIIS itself, it is clearly seen that even the existing workshops are not loaded at all production capacities. It is against this background that attracting business entities is a priority. Employed convicts have the opportunity to pay claims, help relatives, and also purchase essential goods in a store located on the territory of the institution.
At the same time, a tour of the industrial zone of the institution was carried out and mechanical, woodworking shops and shops for the production of reinforced concrete products were visited. In the mechanical workshop, metal products are made to order, these are garbage containers, swings, beds; in the reinforced concrete workshop, paving stones and paving slabs are made. All these products can be used for the improvement of the city. In the woodworking and sewing workshops, backgammon, chests, various souvenirs are made and special uniforms, mattresses, etc. are sewn.
