The convict, who has been registered with the Probation Service of the Kobdinsky district for several years, has made it a habit to help his 66-year-old lonely neighbor with daily chores. He helps with the housework, cleaning the yard from snow, feeding livestock, and preparing firewood.
The convict explains that this case is his civil concern for a lonely elderly man.
According to the Probation Service, they regularly organize volunteer events with registered convicts, and that volunteer and charitable activities in the correction of convicts are of great importance.
“Currently, the convict, who is registered, does not have a violation of serving a sentence, showed himself on the positive side. The Probation Service inspectors have repeatedly witnessed that he constantly helps a neighbor with daily business.
In general, the involvement of registered convicts in public works helps them to embark on the path of correction and quickly adapt to society. That is, if they can contribute to society and to any charity event and have the opportunity to actively interact with society, they can feel significant for society,” said Chief Inspector of the Probation Service, Captain of Justice Aigerim Zhanbyrbayeva.
