A special economic zone (SEZ) is a part of the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan with precisely defined borders, on which a special legal regime of a special economic zone for the implementation of priority activities operates.

SEZ "Seaport Aktau"

accelerated development of modern production facilities and innovative technologies in the region's economic sector for import substitution;

The territory of the FEZ: 2000 hectares, consists of 6 subzones and a coastal zone.

SEZ "Park of Innovative Technologies"
Date of creation: Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 1166 dated August 18, 2003.
The purpose of the creation of the FEZ: technological development of information technologies, technologies in the field of telecommunications and communications, electronics and instrumentation, renewable energy sources, resource conservation and efficient use of natural resources; technologies in the field of creation and application of materials for various purposes, technologies in the field of extraction, transportation and processing of oil and gas, the creation of highly efficient, including high-tech and competitive industries, the development of new types of products, attracting investment.

SEZ "Ontustik"
Date of creation: By Presidential Decree No. 1605 dated July 6, 2005.
The purpose of creating a FEZ:
development of cotton processing enterprises, textile and clothing industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
development of the textile industry;
attracting manufacturers of world brands for the production of textile products;
creation of high-tech production facilities, improvement of quality and expansion of the range of textile products.
The term of operation of the FEZ: 2005 - 2030.
The territory of the FEZ: 200 hectares.
Priority activities: textiles, petrochemicals.

5. SEZ "National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark"
Date of creation: By Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 19, 2007.
The purpose of the SEZ creation is to develop and implement breakthrough investment projects for the creation and development of world-class petrochemical production facilities for deep processing of hydrocarbon raw materials and the production of a wide competitive petrochemical industry with high added value.

SEZ "Saryarka"

SEZ "Chemical Park Taraz"
Date of creation: By Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 426 dated November 13, 2012.
The purpose of creating a FEZ:
development of the chemical industry (cluster) of the strategic program of the State "Kazakhstan 2050";
formation of new chemical production facilities in the Republic of Kazakhstan based on highly efficient technologies.

10. FEZ "ICPS "Khorgos"
