Land Relations (as of January 9, 2026)
The territory of West Kazakhstan Region is 15 million 133 thousand hectares.
Agricultural lands - 7958.2 thousand ha (including arable land - 623.7 thousand ha, perennial plantings - 1.9 thousand ha, hayfields - 515.6 thousand ha, pastures - 6252.2 thousand ha, other lands - 56.7 thousand ha).
Lands of settlements constitute 2421.8 thousand ha;
Lands for industry, transport, communications, defense, and other non-agricultural purposes - 49.9 thousand ha;
Lands of specially protected natural areas constitute 355.5 thousand ha.;
Lands of the forest fund constitute 224.7 thousand ha;
Lands of the water fund - 81.5 thousand ha;
Reserve lands constitute 2578.6 thousand ha (including perennial plantings 0.4 thousand ha, hayfields - 412.5 thousand ha, pastures - 1354.2 thousand ha, other lands constitute 383.4 thousand ha).
Identification of Unused Lands
In 2025, authorized bodies in the field of land relations at the city and district levels identified 122.1 thousand ha of unused agricultural lands across the region.
Of the total 120.0 thousand ha of agricultural lands planned for return to state ownership since the beginning of the year, 122.1 thousand ha were returned. Competitions for agricultural lands
In 2023, local executive bodies of districts held 51 competitions for 407 land plots with a total area of 209.9 thousand ha, resulting in the allocation of 339 land plots with a total area of 184.6 thousand ha.
In 2024, local executive bodies of districts held 54 competitions for 299 land plots with a total area of 168.1 thousand ha, resulting in the allocation of 245 land plots with a total area of 146.1 thousand ha.
In 2025, local executive bodies of districts held 48 competitions for 303 land plots with a total area of 136.1 thousand ha, resulting in the allocation of 264 land plots with a total area of 120.3 thousand ha.
Auctions for Land Plots for Commercial Purposes
In 2023, 86 auctions were held, resulting in the sale of lease rights for 107 land plots with a total area of 55.5 ha for 306 million 228 thousand tenge.
In 2024, local executive bodies of districts held 109 auctions for 198 land plots with a total area of 84.5 ha.
In 2025, local executive bodies of districts held 163 auctions for 449 land plots with a total area of 310.0 ha, resulting in the sale of 236 land plots with an area of 209.96 ha. It is worth noting that conducting auctions electronically ensures transparency, accessibility, increased level of competition, and saves time for organizers.
Individual Housing Construction
Work is underway to allocate land plots for individual housing construction across the region.
Currently, the number of citizens registered to receive land plots for individual housing construction in the region is 170,938 (109,742 for Oral city).
In 2023, 266 land plots were allocated for individual housing construction (Akzhaik district - 99, Borli district - 30, Zhanakala district - 18, Karatobe district - 17, Syrym district - 16, Terekti district - 1, Taskala district - 12, Shyngyrlau district - 5, Oral city - 68).
In 2024, 353 land plots were allocated for individual housing construction (Akzhaik district - 31, Bokei Orda district - 10, Borli district - 42, Zhanakala district - 1, Baiteрек district - 51, Kaztalov district - 65, Karatobe district - 4, Syrym district - 106, Taskala district - 18, Shyngyrlau district - 17, Oral city - 8).
In 2025, 235 land plots were allocated for individual housing construction (Akzhaik district - 39, Bokei Orda district - 3, Borli district - 31, Zhanakala district - 8, Baiteрек district - 31, Kaztalov district - 42, Karatobe district - 2, Syrym district - 31, Terekti district - 19, Shyngyrlau district - 22, Oral city - 7).
Furthermore, under the "Nurly Zher" program, it is planned to allocate 1264 land plots across the region: Akzhaik district-82 (Chapaev v. - 82 plots), Borli district - 79 (Araltal v. - 79 plots); Zhanakala district - 66 (Zhanakala v. - 66 plots), Baiteрек district - 92 (Peremetnoe - 23 plots, Volodarskoe - 18 plots, Darinsk v. - 51 plots), Kaztalov district-61 (Zhalpaktal v. - 61 plots), Karatobe district - 98 (Karatobe v. - 98 plots), Terekti district - 527 (Terekti v. - 527 plots) and for Oral city - 259 land plots.
