Development of languages
In order to carry out the state language policy, 5.0 (five million) tenge was allocated from the local budget in 2019 for residents of the district, free courses on the study of the Kazakh language were organized. The training course was attended by 200 people.
According to the results of KAZTEST testing and social research, the share of the population speaking the state language in 2019 was 85%.
The share of the region's population who speaks English in 2019 was 23.5%, the share of those who speak three languages (state, Russian and English) - 15%.
In 2019, 100 people were enrolled in English courses.
On the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 637 of February 19, 2018 "On the translation of the Kazakh alphabet into Latin script", since the beginning of 2019, about 98 events have been held, covering more than 800 people, more than 90 materials have been published in the media and social networks.
For 11 months of this year, 45 people underwent training and received certificates under the "Digital Alphabet" project, which allows you to study the Kazakh language based on Latin graphics in a distance format (www.elatyn.kz).
In 2019, the West Kazakhstan Regional Onomastic Commission received a positive decision on 5 Bumakol Rural District, 5 Burlinsky Rural District, 25 Aksai City Street, 1 Karachaganak Street, Zharsuat Rural District. 3 settlements of Burlinsky region were renamed (Kirovskoe village - Karaganda village, Tikhonovka village - Karakuduk village, Aleksandrovskiy rural district and Dostyk village).
On February 26, 2020, a regional seminar entitled "Competent advertising is a manifestation of respect for the language" was held, which signed a memorandum of mutual cooperation between the department of culture and language development of the Burlinsky region and the Burlinsky branch of the Chamber of Entrepreneurship of the West Kazakhstan region.
Under the program for the implementation of the language policy for 2020-2025 of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a lot of events are planned in the region.
