Industry

At the end of 2019, industrial products were produced in the amount of 2378.1 billion tenge (2018 - 2471.3 billion tenge), including in the mining and manufacturing industries - respectively, by 2105.4 (2018 - 2209.3 billion tenge) and 215.4 billion tenge (2018 - 200.4 billion tenge).

The index of physical volume of industrial production amounted to 93.9% due to a decrease in production volumes in the mining industry by 7.3% compared to 2018, including:

- natural gas - 19, 496 billion cubic meters. (98.5%);

- oil including gas condensate - 11.566 million tons (92.6%).

The decrease in volumes in the mining industry is due to a decrease in oil production, including gas condensate - by 7.4% and natural gas - by 1.5% due to low labor productivity due to an increased volume of water cut in production wells, as well as b.c. starting from the end of September 2019 until October 14 of this year the largest-scale preventive maintenance in the history of the Karachaganak field.

According to KPO b.v.

On the basis of the Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field (KPO b.v.) production volume:

- gas amounted to 18.675 billion cubic meters of gas (2018 - 18.967 billion cubic meters), which is 95.9% of the extracted volume in the region;

- liquid hydrocarbons (oil and condensate) - 11.309 million tons (2018 - 12 205.0 million tons), this is 97.8% of the volume of the region's production.

During the scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), KPO b.v. All production facilities of the field were completely shut down, including the Karachaganak processing complex, UKPG-2, UKPG-3, and the product collection system.

During the PPR, the following types of work were completed:

Mandatory maintenance and inspection work
Modifications to production facilities.
Sidebars for the SPOG project.
Sidebars for 4KOZG project.

On the basis of the Karachaganak oil and gas condensate field (KPO b.v.) in 2019, the construction of the fifth infield pipeline was completed.

A number of projects for the construction / modification of production facilities are also being implemented or are planned for implementation at the field. These projects will optimize and improve the efficiency of oil production, further improve the reliability, integrity and operational reliability of the enterprise, while maintaining or improving performance indicators for ensuring industrial safety and minimizing the impact on the environment.

Shelf extension projects in various stages of planning, development and implementation include:

The project of lifting the production restrictions on gas at the KPC (SPOG);
Project of the 4th gas re-injection compressor (4KOZG);
Karachaganak Expansion Project Stage 1.

Further work is planned to evaluate, select and implement concepts to assess the potential of additional shelf extension projects such as surface network upgrades, additional production facilities and additional wells / alternative well designs.

The project of lifting the production restrictions on gas at the KPC (SPOG).

Implementation period: September 2018 - March 2021

The project to remove technological restrictions on gas at the KPC will ensure the commissioning of additional facilities for the treatment of increased gas volumes as a result of an increase in the gas factor (an increase in the share of gas in the well production (mixture of oil, water and gas) of the KPC, thus supporting or increasing the production of liquid hydrocarbons and at the same time maintaining or slightly increasing gas supply to the OGPZ and re-injection into the reservoir.

The objective of the project is to safely maximize revenues by improving liquid hydrocarbon production rates by:

Increased use of PDA facilities;
Increase in KPC's gas treatment (gas dehydration) capacities;
Optimized well control.

The contract for the main construction work on the LNG project was awarded to KKS-Sichim LLP, a Kazakh-Italian JV (50/50)

$ 45 million has already been invested in the infrastructure of the WKO (rotational camp, offices, production workshops, etc.)
1,100 new jobs were created for residents of WKO, including 420 jobs for residents of the city of Aksai, at the time of peak it will reach 2,500

Currently, the project is at the stage of field service of Stage 2, which is characterized by support of the annual production volumes achieved at Stage 2 of about 11 million tons of liquid hydrocarbons and 16.5-17.5 billion cubic meters of gas.

The LNG project will also serve as a resource for the implementation of subsequent investment projects in the field.

This project, being one of the largest investment projects with a budget of 1.1 billion US dollars, will provide additional revenues to the budget of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the amount of more than 3.2 billion US dollars in the period until 2037. Within the framework of this project, the minimum share of local content in the procurement of goods, works and services will be 40% and 75% when hiring personnel.

The specified project will allow processing additional volumes
