A mosque is a building in which Muslims worship. (Arabic: مسشد [ˈmæsdɪɪd] - Masjid "the stretching earth").[1] according to religious legends, the first mosque was built in the 1st quarter of the 7th century in the settlement of Kubila near the city of Medina. It was a square house with a roof covered with persimmon leaves. Muslims gathered in mosques to pray, listen to religious commandments and discuss public issues.[2]
Two types of mosques with an open courtyard and a domed roof are widespread. View from an open courtyard, mainly in Arab countries, domed mosques are common in Central Asia. On the wall of the mosque, facing Mecca, there is a niche - mihrab, created for prayers, on the right side of which there is a pulpit installed for reading ala Quran or ayat
