During the years of independence, 15 runways (runways) and 12 terminals of airports in Kazakhstan were reconstructed.

The terminal area is 47,000 m2. The capacity of the new terminal is 5 million people per year (the current terminal is 3.2 million people), a total of 8.2 million passengers per year or 2525 passes / hour.
In 2017, the reconstruction of one of the existing runways of the Almaty airport was completed. Work continues on the implementation of the project for the reconstruction of the Semey airport runway. The plans by 2020, it is planned reconstruction of the runway of the airports in Kostanay and Ust-Kamenogorsk.
