Atyrau celebrated the Amal holiday

On March 14, in honor of the Amal holiday or Korisu kuni, a cultural event called "Amal keldi – zhyl keldi!" was held on the Isatay and Makhambet square, the Press Service of the akim of the region reports.

The concert program began with a theatrical choreographic production "Zharshylar" performed by the Academic Kazakh Drama Theater named after Makhambet.

The akim of the region Serik Shapkenov, who took part in the celebration, congratulated residents on the holiday symbolizing the beginning of spring and a new life cycle.

“Having safely seen off the winter, on this day people hug, shake hands, and ask about the health of their relatives and friends. An ancient tradition that has survived only in the West of Kazakhstan, on the instructions of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has been included in the decade of Nauryz celebrations and is now celebrated throughout the country. In Korisu, it is customary to forgive each other and let go of old grievances. This is a tradition that calls us to peace and goodness, unity and harmony. And what the power of unity can be, we saw with our own eyes last spring. Thanks to our unity, we were able to cope with the elements of nature with dignity. Congratulations on the holiday of "Korisu"! May the new year be prosperous! May peace and harmony reign in your homes!” S. Shapkenov said.

The festive event continued with performances by the famous performer Zattybek Kopbolsynuly and the group "Melomen", as well as local singers. Theater artists presented productions about the tradition of "Korisu", girls and boys competed in the art of aitys. The elders gave bata, and the young daughters-in-law held a traditional shashu for the guests.
