Serik Shapkenov: Safety of children should be priority

Today, under the chairmanship of the Akim of the region Serik Shapkenov, an operational meeting was held. The issues of preparing children for school and safety on the water were considered on the agenda, the press service of the akim of the region reports.

“Our most important task is to provide quality education for our children. To do this, it is important for us to create all the necessary conditions. I instruct to complete the construction of educational institutions before the start of the new academic year. Secondly, it is important to monitor the safety of children. Thirdly, to qualitatively organize the "Road to School" action. I met with the heads of large companies and entrepreneurs in the region. They agreed to provide certificates to families in need of support. Parents also need to appropriately distribute this assistance. Entrepreneurs can make a discount only to those who need it. In this regard, responsible persons need to draw up a list and organize the provision of stores,” the head of the region said.

According to information of the Acting Head of the Department of Education of the region Ainagul Duisekenova, by September the overhaul of two schools will be completed - the Secondary School named after A. Zhangildin in the village of Miyaly, Kyzylkoga district and the Secondary School No. 2 in the village of Kosshagyl, Zhylyoy district.

“Preparations for the new academic year are in full swing. Until August 20, textbooks will be distributed in schools. As part of the "Road to School" campaign, 150 million tenge was allocated to the region. From August 19, 37,000 tenge will be transferred to the parents' accounts to buy clothes and everything necessary for children,” Ainagul Duisekenova said.

Zhasulan Aktayev, Acting Head of the Department of Emergency Situations of the region, made a report on ensuring safety during the swimming season. Since June 1, 2022, 12 people have died on the reservoirs of the region. Of these, 6 are minors.

“In order to prevent emergencies in water bodies, preparatory measures have been organized since March 2022. In accordance with this, a meeting of the regional commission was held, where specific instructions were given to local executive bodies. Today, there are no equipped beaches, except for the city of Atyrau and the Inder district. The resonant situation in the Makhambet district was raised at a meeting of the regional CES. On the territory of the district, there is not enough work done to prevent emergency situations in water bodies. As a result, six people drowned. At the meeting of the CES, the Deputy Akim of the Makhambet district was informed about the unavailability for the swimming season for 2022. As it turned out, the officials of this region did not draw the necessary conclusions,” Zhasulan Aktayev said.

Serik Shapkenov noted that the bathing places in Atyrau do not meet the necessary sanitary standards. He instructed the city akim to take this issue under control. In addition, after 22:00, it is necessary to strengthen control over boats going for a walk along the Ural River. Also, the akim of the region instructed the heads of departments and the DES, DP to strengthen awareness of the safety rules.
