KORISU CELEBRATION STARTED IN ATYRAU

In Atyrau, a festive event "Amal keldi - Zhyl keldi", dedicated to the tradition of korisu (seeing each other), was held, the Press Service of the akim of the region reports.

At the festive event, Akim of the region Makhambet Dosmukhambetov congratulated the population of the region on the beginning of the korisu ceremony.

"This good tradition is rooted in the depths of centuries, being a symbol of the wisdom and unity of the nation. On this day, our ancestors, having survived a difficult winter, sincerely greeted each other, inquired about health, life and daily routine. This wonderful tradition ensures national identity, the preservation of the deep essence of the people, the continuity of generations," the head of the region, Makhambet Dosmukhambetov, said revealing the essence and content of this tradition.

"Korisu personifies mutual respect, kind attitude of people towards each other, respect for elders. A special feature of korisu is that, having started in early spring, it is not limited to one day, but continues throughout the year. This holiday is designed to educate the younger generation such qualities as kindness, mercy, friendship, dignity, respect. Our people have long lived in harmony with nature. Therefore, coinciding with the beginning of spring, korisu is an important ritual filled with deep meaning, rich content, symbolizing renewal and rebirth, abundance," the head of the region said.

During the festive event, the tusau-keser ceremony of little Aziz, who had just begun to walk, took place with the performance of national rituals. Elders, representatives of the intelligentsia blessed the baby, wishing him a good path in life. In accordance with the traditions, the "shashu" ritual was performed, dishes of the Kazakh national cuisine were offered, and Kydyr ata gave bata (blessing). Also, at the celebrations, a theatrical performance about the traditions and customs of the people and a concert program were offered to the attention of those present.

The event was attended by the secretary of the regional maslikhat Alibek Nautiyev, the chairman of the Public Council Maksim Izbasov, the chairman of the regional council of veterans Murat Uteshov, as well as cultural and public figures of the region, masters of art.
