MAKHAMBET DOSMUKHAMBETOV MET WITH TURKISH INVESTORS

Akim of the region Makhambet Dosmukhambetov met with the founder of BRIMSTONE Sulfur Provider Company Munip Nurdogdu and discussed projects related to the chemical industry, the Press Service of the akim of the region said.

Akim of the region Makhambet Dosmukhambetov noted that, as indicated in the Address of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the western regions of the country pay special attention to the construction of petrochemical complexes, the creation of new production cycles of processing at a high level. In this direction, the Atyrau region has embarked on a number of large-scale projects, work is underway to attract investment.

In turn, the Turkish investor announced its readiness to open an enterprise for the production of sulfur bentonite in the Atyrau region. It is planned that the total investment in the project will amount to about 10 million US dollars, with the creation of about 50 permanent jobs.

“Kazakhstan has sufficient reserves of sulfur. However, both for us and for the country as a whole, it is much more expedient to organize deep processing of raw materials, to produce and export finished products in the form of sulfur bentonite. From a logistic point of view, the Atyrau region is a very convenient investment platform for the implementation of this project. There is great potential here to enter the large markets of China, Europe and Russia,” Munip Nurdogdu said.

According to him, factories in the city of Izmir in Turkey supply sulfur and associated products to European countries. Their products are an indispensable fertilizer in agriculture, especially in areas with salty soil.

Akim of the region instructed the persons responsible for the industry to consider ways of implementing the project.

It should be noted that within the framework of the visit, organized by KAZAKH INVEST NC JSC, Turkish investors held negotiations with representatives of Tengizchevroil regarding the provision of raw materials. Along with this, they visited promising investment sites for the implementation of the project.
