Today, there are 23,122 foreign citizens in Atyrau region. Last year, there were three times as many-74,152 people.
The decrease in the number of foreigners is due to quarantine restrictions on entry to Atyrau due to the coronavirus pandemics.
According to the migration police, since the beginning of the year, 1,957 Russian citizens, 731 British citizens, 730 US citizens, 548 Indian citizens, 415 Uzbek citizens, 348 Chinese citizens, 305 Azerbaijani citizens, 198 Italian citizens, 174 Tajik citizens , 153 Australian citizens, 145 Kyrgyz citizens, etc. have arrived in Atyrau region.
These are mainly expats who came for work – 19,818 people, for other categories (private / guest visa) - 777 people.
Since the beginning of the year, 197 foreigners have received permanent residence in Atyrau for a period of five years.
It is interesting that in March, out of the total number of foreigners staying in the Atyrau region, the most were citizens of Uzbekistan – more than 13 thousand people. This is before the introduction of the state of emergency and quarantine restrictions. Now there are only 415 Uzbeks. And this is only officially registered.
