The department for the development of the volunteer movement is one of the first departments created at KSU "Astana Zhastary" in February 2014. Head Esmukhanova Elvira Karabekovna, yesmukhanova@mail.ru .
Since the founding of the institution, the volunteer movement "Astana Zhastary" was created. For 6.5 years, volunteers have taken part in over 700 events of various levels. In total, over 8,000 volunteers took part in the events, including 1,500 volunteers who worked during the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017; for the period from 2014 to 2019, about 4,000 volunteers were attracted to various city and international events. Since 2020, the City Volunteer Headquarters has more than 2,500 volunteers who are actively participating in the fight against Covid-2019 and in events within the framework of the national movement #BizBirgemiz.
Project "Addresses of Care"
The Addresses of Care project aims to help lonely retirees and veterans to clean up snow-covered private areas to prevent floods and help clean up apartments, clean up household waste and prepare vegetable gardens for planting. Also visits to nursing homes and animal shelters. A volunteer in the Addresses of Care project has the opportunity to get in touch with those who need a little help, which helps them not to lose faith in human compassion.
School of Volunteers Project
The project aims to educate and train volunteers to participate in various city and international events. Since 2014, the “School of Volunteers” project has been working in a two-stage form, which allows us to prepare volunteers for events of various levels. The program includes modules on knowledge of the history of the country, first aid, the study of the mentality of different countries, conflict management. Since 2019, training in the "School of Volunteers" project has been taking place in 3 directions: social volunteering, emergency volunteers, international events. Thanks to this project, participants have the opportunity to diversify their free time and find new friends.
Taza Qazaqstan project
The project is aimed at garbage collection on the territory of the city and in places of mass gathering of people near reservoirs and coastal areas of rivers. In the spring and autumn, tree planting is carried out with the ecological movements of the city. This project runs from May to October. The main objectives of the event: instilling environmental education of youth to the environment, a sense of responsibility and respect for nature, the formation of a conscious perception of the natural environment.
Event- events
Since 2014, volunteers of Astana Zhastary have been involved in international events: forums, concerts, sports events and many other areas that provide an opportunity to practice a foreign language, get in touch with foreign culture, see the most spectacular events, work in large teams, be proactive and develop a systematic thinking.
