The Department for Consumer Protection of the Akmola Region of the Committee for Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan is an authorized body that ensures the implementation of state policy in the field of consumer protection.
One of the fundamental and universally recognized international rights in the field of consumer protection is the right to consumer education. Insufficient literacy in consumer protection issues hinders effective counteraction to violations of consumer rights. Often consumers, not having legal knowledge, become deceived by unscrupulous entrepreneurs. This has a negative impact on the well-being of citizens, causing material damage to the interests of consumers.
To date, the legal basis of the current consumer protection system is formed by the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Consumer Protection" (hereinafter – the Law), Civil, Business Codes, and other regulatory legal acts regulating relations between sellers (service providers, performers) and consumers. Consumer protection issues are considered at meetings of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Therefore, one of the priorities in the field of consumer protection remains information and educational activities aimed primarily at educating consumers, familiarization with the rights granted by law, as well as guarantees and ways to protect them.
