Industry is the most important sector of any state's economy. It consists of enterprises, factories and factories that are engaged in the extraction of natural raw materials, its processing and production of various items and energy.
Akmola region is an industrial and agricultural region. More than 1000 enterprises and productions, including large, medium and small ones, operate in the industry.
The industrial segment of the region is dominated by the manufacturing industry, which occupies 80% (795 large, medium, small enterprises and industries).
The main industries forming the region's industry are metallurgy, mechanical engineering, food production, chemical industry, and construction industry.
The products produced by industrial enterprises of the region are processed gold, trucks, bearings for railway rolling stock, enriched uranium, construction materials and products, etc.
Along with this, the region has significant potential in the field of mechanical engineering. Leading companies in this industry: JSC «EPK Stepnogorsk», JSC «KAMAZ-Engineering», a branch of AERZ LLP «Kamkor-Lokomotiv».
Goods produced in the territory of the Akmola region are actively supplied to nearby regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Among the major export-oriented enterprises of the region are: Kokshetau mineral waters JSC, Stepnogorsk mining and chemical combine LLP, Tynys JSC, KAMAZ-Engineering JSC, Stepnogorsk EPK JSC, Novopek LLP, aidabul Distillery LLP, Urozhay LLP, Agrimer Astyk LLP and a number of others. The geography of exports extends beyond the borders of the member States of the Customs Union and neighboring countries. The main exported products are bearings, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, trucks, flour.
The main goals of the Department of entrepreneurship and industry of the Akmola region in the field of industry:
1) study, analysis and forecasting of the situation in the regional industries;
2) implementation of regional and sectoral programs to support industrial and innovative activities;
3) development of local content of system-forming enterprises;
4) study, analysis and forecasting of foreign economic activity.
Main tasks of the Department of entrepreneurship and industry of the Akmola region in the industry:
1) preparation of analytical information on industry development trends;
2) making forecasts for further development of the industrial sector;
3) monitoring of production indicators and calculating the expected performance of commercial products for large and medium-sized industrial enterprises and regions of the region;
4) participation in the development and implementation Of the program for the development of territories of the Akmola region;
5) implementation of a set of measures for the development of priority industrial sectors;
6) participation in support of domestic producers;
7) overview of the overall situation in the region in terms of creating new jobs at large and medium-sized industrial enterprises in the region;
8) preparation of information on employment issues at large and medium-sized industrial enterprises in the region;
9) monitoring of local content in purchases of goods, works and services by system-forming enterprises;
10) implementation of a set of measures to support Kazakhstani producers, replace imported products (works, services) with domestic analogues;
11) preparation of analytical information on trends in the region's foreign trade turnover;
12) calculation of forecast indicators for the volume of exports and imports;
13) development of proposals to support domestic exporting companies;
14) implementation of a set of measures to develop exports, including non-commodity exports;
15) preparation of information, tabular and presentation material, draft speeches within the competence of the Department;
16) participation in national and regional command and staff exercises within the competence;
