As of January 1, 2020, the population systematically engaged in physical culture and sports is 219961 people, or 29.8% of the total number of residents of the region.
The highest number of students in Stepnogorsk (33.5%), Zharkainsky (30.3%), Zhaksynsky (30.3%) districts.
The region has 15 independent departments of physical culture and sports. In Yegindykol and Yessil districts – departments of education, physical culture and sports, in Stepnogorsk-Department of culture, language development, physical culture and sports, in Burabay – Department of tourism, physical culture and sports.
2190 people work in the field of physical culture and sports, including 1205 people in the village. Of these, 1,296 physical education teachers in secondary schools, colleges and Universities, 441 coach-teachers, 235 sports instructors (including 159 Methodists in rural districts, which is 68.5% of the provision of rural districts).
13 adolescent clubs and 4 youth clubs of physical training with a total coverage of 5,413 people are working at the place of residence.
