The rescuers who arrived only stated the fact of death. This was announced at a briefing in the Central Communications Service by the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yuri Ilyin. According to him, in the last swimming season, 350 people "did not swim out".
"The issue is relevant for all Kazakhstanis, not only the city of Nur-Sultan. Decisions of local executive bodies determine the places where bathing is possible. After checking the state of the water area, the coastline, sanitary and epidemiological services are given permission to use these land plots as beaches. And, accordingly, there must be an organized infrastructure, organized places where you can swim, restrictions on which you can swim, and a post that ensures safety. This is primarily the work of local executive bodies. Why do we conduct raid events together with internal affairs officers? Because last season, unfortunately, was sad. During the swimming season alone, we lose 350 people, including about 70 children. This suggests that swimming in the wrong and not equipped places that do not provide safety, leads to such tragic consequences, " concluded the chief lifeguard of the country.
